My Body

Recently I was asked about my body on Flickr. Funny thing is I was planning on doing a post about it! Thanks for asking Seyona!

I have worn all kinds of bodies in SL. I always end up coming back to Maitreya's Lara. The primary reason being is that pretty much everyone makes for Maitreya. I just have a lot more options with that body. I personally preferred Belleza's Freya because I rather enjoy being a curvy avatar, but I got frustrated with being limited in clothing choices. And when playing with my shaping, I was pleasantly surprised that Lara could give me the thicker look I was after. It made me wonder if it could do that all along or I missed some update somewhere, or I never gave Lara a chance to push the sliders.

Seyona had specifically asked me about my belly and I love that so much! After having been a tall, skinny SL model, I have returned to the shorter, curvier version of me that I had been before I embarked on my SL modeling career. I am a curvy woman in RL and I have found it rather cathartic to reject the beauty myth imposed on me by society and embrace what a real woman looks like, specifically a mother. My partner has really supported me in this and enjoys challenging me to embrace myself. I really enjoy seeing more images of real women - curvy, stretch marks, cellulite, bellies, etc - in and out of SL. It is so refreshing and encouraging!

Belly for pregnancy: Maitreya Pregnant Belly Enhancer by Must Trade - I have tried the popular pregnant bellies (Baby Bump & and Heartbeat) and my biggest issues with them have been a visible seam and no/few progressions in size. With the Belly Enhancer I had a lot more control over how big my belly was. Using it takes a good deal of shape modification so be prepared for that. It used to be on the Marketplace, but when looking for the link for this post, it appears the creator has taken it off of the MP and does not have an inworld store, so you may have to contact them directly to inquire about it. I am surprised it isn't listed anymore, I have been really impressed by its versatility and have recommended it to others before. Skin: Deetalz - I am wearing a freckled, soft belly version of my skin. Many skin makers offer this and I have found even not being a 'pregnant' version of my skin (which isn't offered anyway), my pregnant belly looks pretty good with just a soft belly. Izzie's does offer a pregnant belly imperfections applier, which I did purchase and try, but I didn't like the look of it personally.
